CT PISTOL PERMIT CLASS
This course takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. Absolutely no experience is necessary. Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals 18 years of age and older, regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. Classes are taught in a beautiful, state-of-the-art, air conditioned/heated classroom. Southbury classes shoot at an offsite, spacious indoor range, perfect for cold months! While qualification is typically completed using .22 caliber firearms, you may also have an opportunity to shoot a wide variety of other guns and calibers.
BLENDED COURSES combine online study with a shorter classroom experience. Designed for students who need more flexibility, and can be completed at your own pace. Classes are taught by appointment only. Give us a call wth any questions! Blended Classroom and range portion: $85.00 includes range fees and ammunition.
FULL COURSE Cost: $125, including class materials, NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting book, targets, ammunition, use of firearms, certificate upon completion, lunch. and beverages. Check locations below.
